www.phpstockportfolio.com offers a script written in PHP that allows you to create a portfolio, track the values of the stocks via realtime streaming Yahoo! This is a low-cost solution for displaying real-time stock quotes, (for example, if you wanted to show off your stock portfolio and how well it’s doing).
The whole PHP script package will set you back $99. I dare you to find something this powerful and aesthetically pleasant for less than five times that.

I’m in San Jose tonight. I just got back from watching the San Jose Sabercats Arena football team play the Philadelphia Soul. Philly won by one point.

I had placed some bets on the game in Reno this morning, and I came close to losing $200. Instead, I made my $200 back plus $90! Arena football is really cool. They blow off fireworks and play cool music and the dancers are muy caliente. It was really fun.

I really needed the total for the whole game to be over 115. If it went over 115 I stood to make my $200 plus $390, but since the total ended up being 115 exactly, I only made the $200 back plus the $90. It’s kind of complicated, this gambling thing, but to summarize: Making back my $200 plus $90 is better than losing my $200.
And Arena football is fun to watch.
Tomorrow my friend and I are driving from San Jose to Las Vegas, where I will be attending the NAB show and we will be participating in some more games of chance.
Wish us luck.
So I went to St. Louis for a few weeks last month on a sort of vacation.
St. Louis is famous for a few things. One: it’s where they have a big arch, which symbolizes the Gateway to the West. Two guys named Meriwether Lewis and William Clark built the arch back in the late 70’s to spite Chicago, as well as to celebrate the disco movement. Two: Nelly and Chingy, two famous rappers known for using exceptionally poor grammar, are from St. Louis. Three: Budweiser beer is made there.
But I got sick in St. Louis at the end of my trip, and I’m only now coming out of the fog and confusion of that illness. It’s just a cold, but I feel pain and sickness like no other human being. Luckily, I also recover quicker than anyone you ever knew. I’m also fairly tall, so that’s good, too.
When I got back to Honolulu I promptly had my wisdom teeth extracted. I only had two on the bottom, none on the top, so it was a pretty quick process. However, the teeth were huge and all deep-rooted and gross, so I’m still kind of recovering from that surgery. I have two huge holes in the back of my mouth and a new Vicodin habit, but other than that I seem to be doing okay.
Tomorrow I’m heading to Las Vegas, where I will participate in some games of chance and meet up with an old friend from junior high school, Damian. We’re going to meet in Reno, where he lived for a while, and then go to Vegas to be players. You can find us at the Tropicana playing Rapid Roulette. Stop in and say hi. I will also be attending the National Association of Broadcasters show.
That’s it. You’re pretty much up to speed on my life now. I’ll post more soon–including photos from Reno/Vegas–so come back in a few days.
